Morsi: ‘Fellow Traveller in the Shadow of Life’

Morsi reading ‘Fellow Traveller in the Shadow of Life’

رﻓﯿﻖ اﻟﻤﺴﺎﻓﺮﻓﻲ ظﻞ اﻟﻀﻮء (Fellow traveller in the shadow of light)
Come and let us seek
ﻛﯿﻒ ﻧﺼﻠﺢ اﻟﺴﻤﻮات (how we can repair the heavens)
ﺗﻌﺎل ﻗﺒﻞ اﻟﻨﺠﻮم ﺗﻔﻘﺪعشهم (come before the stars lose their nest)
And the moon falls into the chasm of the night

Come and let us find
اﻟﻤﺮﺟﻞ اﻟﺬي ﯾﺤﻔﻆ ﻓﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﺤﺮ (The cauldron in which magic is kept)
So we can release the souls of love,
وﻧﺮاھﻢ ﯾﻜﻤﻠﻮن إﻧﺴﺎﻧﯿﺘﻨﺎ (and see them complete our humanity)

رﻓﯿﻖ اﻟﻤﺴﺎﻓﺮﻓﻲ ظﻞ اﻟحياة (Fellow traveller in the shadow of life)
ﻻ ﺗﺘﺸﻘﻖ روﺣﻚ (Do not crack your soul)
ﻟﻜﻦ أرﻗﺺ ﻓﻲ ظﻼل اﻷﺣﻼم اﻟﺘﻲ ﻓﻲ ﻏﯿﺮ ﻣﺤﻠﮭﺎ (but dance in those shades of dreams misplaced)
For who has suffered that has not lived.

Come and let us seek
Come and let us find
اﻟﺤﺪﯾﻘﺔ اﻟﺘﻲ ﻟﻢ ﻧﺮھﺎ أﺑﺪًا (The garden we have never seen)
اﻟﺤﺪﯾﻘﺔ اﻟﺘﻲ ﻧﺠﺪ ﻓﯿﮭﺎ أرواح اﻟﺤب (The garden where we find the souls of love)
